About Carol

Carol has enjoyed summers at the family bach, Bonnydoon, for nearly 20 years. The love and strong pull of Aotea led her and her husband, Rob, to become permanent residents of Great Barrier Island in 2016. She is a very passionate and energetic photographer, continually in awe of the stunning natural beauty that our gorgeous island offers the beholder. The sunrises, sunsets, landscapes, wildlife, sports, people, nature and in particular, astrophotography, on our dark sky sanctuary island.

Carol is actively involved in the community, where her volunteer roles include vice chair of the St John Ambulance area committee and a trustee on the Great Barrier Island Community Health Trust. She also is a business mentor to several young Great Barrier Island businesses.

Carol is a unique photographer who is able to portray that special essence which puts you right in the picture. Her photos represent more than just a captured image.

Carol captured the essence of our stargazing business so beautifully. Her presence is fun and never intrusive during our tours, which adds to the overall experience.
